Persian Literature and Foreign Languages: |

By
merging a number of faculties and colleges including of
Translation, College of Persian Literature and Foreign
Languages, Damavand College , Iran Research Center, in May 1983
The Faculty of Persian Literature and Foreign Languages was
founded and started its educational and research activities.
With 101 staff members, the school is at present actively
training 2740 students in eight different educational branches,
and at three ranks of B.A, M.A. and Ph.D. There are employees
working at different office including admission office, research
centers, library, graduate studies office, and public relations
office. The school also enjoys the services of (1) the library,
(2) Language labs, and (3) audiovisual unit. |

Faculty of Economics |
|
|
 |
Following merger of colleges of commerce, insurance and banking
in 1983, the Faculty of economics came into existence and
started its activities. Presently, there are 78 staff members at
five different departments, training some 1760 students. The
school enjoys the services of 65 employees in the library,
admission office, research center, graduate studies office, and
the public relations. |

Faculty of Management and Accounting |
|
 |
This Faculty
is one of the most important centers for training man power in
the field of accounting and management. Training 1916 students,
the Faculty enjoys the services of 64 faculty members active in
six different departments. The number of employees sums up to 69
working in different sections namely admission office, research
centers, graduate studies, and the public relations office.
Facilities: the library, computer laboratory, and internet.

Faculty of Law and Political
Sciences |
|
 |
The faculty was founded in 1997 with three major fields of
study. There are 52 staff members teaching 1366 students.
Although newly established, and quite young, it is one of the
most important centers of teaching law and political sciences.
There are 44 employees working in the library,
admission office, research centers, graduate studies office, and
the public relations.
Facilities:
A specialized library, an amphitheater, a data base for
scientific and law books. |

Faculty of Psychology and Education |
|

With eleven departments and 78 members of staff, this faculty is
training 3367 students.
Scientific Core: in compliance with the decree by the Ministry
of Science, Research, and Technology, the establishment of core
psychology and education at this school was approved.
Facilities available: Internet and Computer site, film and sound
studios, Photography laboratories, and educational workshops |

Faculty of Social Sciences |

The Faculty was established in 1996. Later in 1981, its name
changed to School of Eco-Political Sciences and Mass media. Once
again, in the year 1993, after reopening of the universities, it
was renamed as Faculty of Social Sciences and started its
academic activities. Presently, the school enjoys the services
of 78 staff members at five departments, training 2139 students.
There are also 64 employees engaged in different sections of the
Faculty. With regard of information developments and the dire
need of the country for this field of study, the preliminary
measures have been taken to change the Mass Media Department to
the School of Mass Media with three branches of study namely
Journalism, Public Relations, and Mass Communications Studies.
Also, the Department of Social Work will turn into School of
Social Work and Social Services. |

E.C.O College of Insurance
|

Based on the agreement reached by the heads of the
member-nations of Economic Cooperation Organization, and in
Conformity with the statute of the Ministry of Science,
Research, and Technology, the E.C.O college of Insurance was
established. This college started its activities as one the
faculties affiliated to the Allameh Tabataba’i University in
1991. Presently. 224 students are studying at this college. |

ATU Open Courses
|

 |
The open courses center of the Allameh Tabataba’I University had
embarked on conducting short-term courses in various fields of
study aimed at satisfying the needs of the organizations
requesting such programs a number of years before 1991. The
center started its educational activities in 1992 in compliance
with the codification of the regulations by the Ministry of
Science, Research, and Technology, admitting students at
Associate Diploma, B.A. and M.A. levels in the fields taught at
the university. With regard to the students, presently students
of the center, whether in short term or long – term programs,
are granter scholarship by the Ministry of Education as the
case may be, and in conformity with the provisions stipulated
by the ministry concerning educational fields including
specialized and religious Teachings. |

Furthermore, a number of
students studying Civil Services Management have been granted
scholarship by the municipality of Tehran. At the unofficial
M.A. level in the fields of mathematical statistics as well as
social sciences majoring in demography, a number of students
have been granted scholarship by the Iranian Center for
Statistics. In addition, the center has embarked on a
comprehensive series of activities regarding: a .Ph.D.
admission general exam b. English conversation to those
interested c. TOFEL preparatory coursed d .Guidance and
technical administration e .Iran Tourism f. Technical
management for tour guidance Moreover, in relation to tourism,
the center has taken the necessary measures to obtain
authorization for the technical management programs, management
of the accommodation units, hosting, and front office. |
